The Home Residency emerged as an offering of support for Pittsburgh-based artists amidst the unprecedented challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. In recognition of the importance of ensuring artists can continue their work and research safely from home, this innovative program redefines the traditional artist residency model.

The Home Residency offers Sibyls the opportunity to immerse themselves in their creative practices from the comfort and safety of their own homes. By relieving some of their day-to-day responsibilities—housekeeping, childcare, cleaning, and grocery shopping—the program provides invaluable time, space, and resources to nurture artistic endeavors.

Each Home Resident Artist receives radical care, rest and support including:

• an unrestricted honorarium

• a stipend towards materials

• exhibition and speaking opportunities

• support for self care

• childcare and other daily needs
